Board of Directors
ROLE
The Appraisal District Board of Directors has a limited scope in District operations. The Board of Directors has no authority over the setting of values. The duties include:
- Hiring of the Chief Appraiser
- Setting of the budget of the District
- Approval of contracts
- Setting of policies and procedures of the Board of Directors
- Appointment of Appraisal Review Board Members

SELECTION OF BOARD MEMBERS
The Board of Directors of Bastrop Central Appraisal District is elected by the taxing units of Bastrop County. Votes are allocated based upon the levies of taxes.
The election process occurs between September and December of odd numbered years. Board members serve two-year terms and must have been residents of Bastrop County for at least the preceding two years.
MEETING DATES AND LOCATION
The Bastrop CAD Board typically meets at least once every calendar quarter at 4:00 p.m. at the District office at 212 Jackson Street in Bastrop. The board agenda is posted on this website at least 72 hours before the meeting.
